Since I was young I have always had an interest in how things worked. Both from a mechanical/science driven point of view, and also how companies decide which solutions to make and how to sell those solutions to meet market demand. This interest is what has developed/lead/guided my career development leading to my current function as the Head of Marketing for North America for Carl Zeiss Microscopy.
My strongest motivating factor for when taking a marketing leadership position is the combination of technical understanding along with the market orientation skill set that are required to effectively drive demand in the research space. At ZEISS Microscopy, market orientation requires taking both a holistic view of the market to determine customer needs and priorities but also partnering with across the global and regional organizations to ensure solutions are positioned/presented in a customer-oriented fashion. Ultimately, understanding the NA microscopy market and our business needs require comprehensive marketing plan development and execution across our buyers journey to generate the right demand.
